Restoration Site 1:
Front Ave. (Naito Parkway) between Oak & Pine
The Hallock & McMillan Building of 1857 and the Fechheimer & White Building of 1885 still survive at this location. The Hallock & McMillan Building is the oldest building in downtown Portland, and although it was mauled in the 1940s by the removal of the cast iron façade, excellent photographic documentation exists and the building could be fully restored. The rest of the buildings on the block north of the Fechheimer & White Building were demolished.
The two still-standing buildings are at left in the reconstruction, followed by the Ladd Building façade of 1853, the Wasserman & Weil Buildings of 1860, the Blumauer Building of 1854 and the Parrish Building of 1864.

The proposed reconstruction would utilize original Portland cast iron saved from the demolition of several buildings originally located further south on Front Ave, where the Morrison Bridge ramps are today. These buildings are very similar in scale and proportions to the buildings once on this site.
