The spandrel is composed of six separate castings. The front and back plates have scrolled ornamentation and recessed panels with fluting. A rosette is bolted onto the center of the plate. The reverse of each plate has a series of tabs with threaded holes for mounting bolts. Each respective side of spandrel has set of two interlocking plates which have holes for bolts. The upper plate has a recessed panel with scaled ornament. The lower plate has a recessed panel with fluting and a rosette is bolted on. There are remnants of paint on the front and sides.
A similar style of spandrel was used to construct the 1875 Dekum & Reed Block.
