On the left are the Terwilliger Building (1873), with the Porter & Wiegand Building (1868) and the Alisky & Hegele Building (1878) just past it, then the Odd Fellows' Temple with its tower at the end of the block. The Strowbridge Block is visible just beyond at the intersection with Alder Street.
An 1886 view of First Avenue shows almost the same view.
