This photograph was taken looking south on Front Avenue from between Ankeny and Burnside.
On the right is the Dekum & Reed Block, with Smiths' Block behind the billboard several blocks down.
On the left is the Dodd Block, Cook's Building, the Ankeny & Watson Building, and the Central Block.
An 1886 image shows Front Street just a little further south, from a viewpoint in the middle of the first block on the left.
